Books, language, stories and science-fiction are all things that can bring people together, and it’s fantastic that nowadays we can connect so easily.
To get the metaphorical ball rolling on what for me is a brand new chapter in my writing life, I’ll start by sharing some older/old-ish work that has never before been collected in one place, including science-fiction criticism, music reviews and short fiction.
And so to get the point, here it is: The Australian Renaissance. This was my first piece of published science-fiction criticism, courtesy of the fine folk at Aurealis magazine, and is essentially an overview of some then-recent Australian science-fiction and speculative-fiction. It’s out-of-date now, there’s no doubt about that. But any unread book is a new book, so to speak.
